This guide doesn't deal with Pipewire but it's still useful for general Linux Audio tuning, since most Linux distros are not tuned for audio production.

What I do is to install RNC (Rui Nuno Capela) rtirq, then configure it (especially parameters in RTIRQ_NAME_LIST="snd usb i8042")
The order of the entries determine which device gets higher priority.
